Closed Loop Irrigation
We recapture our irrigation water and recycle it throughout the system in a closed loop. This technique conserves water and is more sustainable than drip to drain.

Unique Growing Media
Our growing media is unique to Variance Design. It has excellent wicking and air to water ratio, which is critical when growing without soil (hydroponically). We also create pockets with our material that makes for easy transplanting. No soggy felt in our builds!

Life Support
The secret to our living systems’ longevity is Life Support. Life Support is the nervous system of our walls that consist of controllers, sensors, and pumps. These work together to irrigate, fertilize, and balance water quality. Live data is pushed to our app, so we can ensure continuous operation.

Remote Monitoring
The ability to sustain a flourishing eco-system requires continuous insight. Variance Design has created our own monitoring system allowing us to keep tabs on the environmental parameters needed for a successful long lasting biophilic experience. If a challenge arises, our 24/7 monitoring gives us a window into our life support systems and allows for immediate action.
