Free thinker, naturalist, master craftsman, and founder of Variance Intelligent Habitat Systems, Zac earned a BS in Zoology from the University of Texas at Austin and resides in Buda, TX. For the past 13 years, he has spearheaded the design and fabrication of permanent exhibits for reputable zoos, museums, and science centers across the country. His love of science and the natural world, combined with his obsession for experimentation, allow him to create sustainable habitats in the form of living walls, terrariums, aquariums, and all the spaces in between.
Bonnie Baskin is a career scientist, business entrepreneur and the president of the Science Mill, an interactive science museum in central Texas. Her passion is to enable people to experience the intersection of art and science through engagement and visualization..
Erich Rose has been creating engaging and accessible exhibits for 35 years. Trained as an industrial designer, Erich possesses expertise in developing and detailing both mechanical and electronic components. With an extensive background in exhibit planning, Erich will also be creating all of the technical drawings for our projects.
Cavan comes to Variance Design with a background in the entertainment industry. A Grammy Nominated musician, Cavan spent over a decade writing, recording, and performing across the country and abroad. His approach to finding new opportunities for growth and expansion outside the comfort of niche environments is, in part what makes him a good fit with the Variance team. An opportunity to realize a lifelong fascination with design and fabrication made a shift in disciplines make sense.
