HOUSTON ZOO

Variance Design created and installed twenty five in-wall terrariums for the Houston Zoo’s new insectarium called the Bug House. The project was part of a $3 million expansion of the Children’s Zoo at the 95 year old park and houses various insects including beetles, centipedes, millipedes, stick insects, giant katydids, tarantulas, domino roaches, grasshoppers, leaf cutter ants, and scorpions. The Houston Zoo is one of the most popular zoos in the country with over two million annual guests.
